How we handle your family's information

Parents only

Submissions and orders come from parents and guardians. We don't collect information directly from children, and we ask children not to contact us themselves.

What we collect

Your name and email address.
Your child's first name and age. We never ask for a last name or school.
A photo of the drawing, your child's signature, and a short description of the invention.
If you place an order: your shipping address and the payment details handled by our payment provider.

Please crop out any full names or school names written on the drawing before you send it.

How we use it

To review the idea, send you a quote, design the build and ship it.
To etch your child's signature into their build, if you send one.
To post the drawing and the finished build online, only if you say yes on the form. We show hands only, never children's faces or full names.
To email you about your submission or order. We don't send marketing emails unless you sign up for them.

Who else sees it

We use a few services to run the workshop: our form provider, our payment provider (such as Etsy) and our email provider. They handle your information only to provide those services. We never sell your information.

How long we keep it

If we don't pick an idea, we delete the submission within 6 months. For completed builds, we keep the design files and drawing so we can repair or remake a piece, unless you ask us to delete them.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct or delete your family's information at any time, or to take down anything we've posted. Email us and we'll take care of it.
